Dwarfism Treatment Options

There are few and expensive options for Dwarfism treatment, such as Surgery for Limbs, Surgery to correct Spine problems, and  Diagnostic and Genetic counseling services.

Surgery for Limbs is a surgery for a Dwarf with a very small limbs. What this surgery does is it divides a bone and straightens it and performs on it to keep it that way, and inserts metals into the growth plate to change the way the bone is growing. Eventually the two pieces of bone are pulled apart while a new straightened bone grows in between them.

Surgery to correct Spine problems is a surgery that opens up the spinal canal to take pressure off the spinal cord and nerves. Scoliosis is a main cause for Dwarfism, and many Dwarfs have very crooked spines. This surgery will use metal rods to straighten out the spine.

Diagnostic and Genetic counseling services is services for both Dwarf children and pregnant woman. Experts help explain the condition and the possibility of the child having bone dysplasia.
